Intern Program

TTCF runs an intern program that aims to train, encourage and foster experience in technology transfer and venture capital.

The program is aimed at individuals with a demonstrated interest in technology commercialisation. Qualifications in Business and/or Science (Life Science, Chemistry, Engineering or similar technical background) are preferred.

During the internship, interns will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the investment process, with the main focus on assisting the Investment Manager conduct investment due diligence on current projects and source new opportunities from member universities.

Skills to develop Approach
  • In depth understanding of technology transfer process (idea to implementation)

  • Experience working with TTCF member universities Technology Transfer Offices (TTO)

  • Workshops held by universities or other institutes

  • Interaction with University Commercialisation Offices

  • Interns to attend regular meetings held by TTO and University Business Development Managers.

  • Involvement in all stages of TTCF investment process (from PIP to investment).

  • Conduct due diligence at each stage of the investment process under guidance of IM’s.

  • Specific focus on individual tasks with regular feedback/updates to see progress.

  • Understanding of early stage technology valuation

  • Benchmarking, Discounted Cash Flow and Return on Investment analysis.

  • Exposure to potential employers

  • Meetings with all parties involved with research commercialisation (e.g. TTO, Gov., industry and venture capital).
